in addition to our public shows, The Groovy Funky Things are also happy to perform their unique blend of funk, soul, and disco classics for function, party, and wedding audiences across the Midlands and surrounding regions. With younger guests in mind, we’re also happy to mix things up a little with more contemporary anthems from artists like Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Spiller, and Daft Punk. Our shows are guaranteed to make your event groove and your guests boogie.

A self-sufficient groove machine for your function.

Groovy Funky Things will happily perform for your wedding, birthday celebration, corporate function, presentation, or fundraiser. We carry a PA system and lighting, suitable for indoor events with up to around 200 guests, or rooms 300 square metres/3200 square feet in size. This means we are self-sufficient in most hotel/conference venues. However, if needed, equipment suitable for larger venues can easily be arranged via third-party hire.

Keep your party, wedding, or function grooving, even when the band takes a break

In addition to our performance, we are happy to provide recorded music before and after our show, and also between sets. This ensures that your function continues to groove, even when the band isn’t performing. If you want to have input into this, just email us a list of your favourite numbers before your event.

Weddings

As a wedding band, we realise that your special day is more than just a party. So, we’ll do everything we can to make the final stage of your celebration everything you hoped for. Groovy Funky Things’ repertoire includes songs suitable for a happy couple’s first dance. However, it might also be possible to create a custom arrangement of a song that’s special to you. Just ask at the time of booking and if we can help we will!
